I will agree with the somewhat tangential thought that all-black armor isn't neccesarily as awesome as some people seem to think it is. Only SOME outfits look good in black.
Why people bother farming trolls or vermin is beyond me.

If anet truly tried to rid bots, they would increae the drop rates as some itmes would be easier to get and they would no longer be farmed to hell by bots. leave the rarest items in hoh and allow the other items to be easily gotten so bots wouldnt have a job.

Anyone who got their FoW armour 'legitimately' has a huge achievement they can be proud of. Be happy. Others are still going to do things you consider 'illegitimate' to get what they want whether you like it or not. Get over it.

I'm sick of people crying about armour, and items.
Try playing the game for awhile, Guys its been over a year. Not everyone with leet armour ebay-ed it.
maraxusofk, Keeping the good items in HOH... Yeah cause thats never farmed by gimic builds >.>
I farm a bit as a 55monk, why? Gold. I like buying stuff and doing things like getting that damn drunkard title. Also being an officer of a guild your gold can get drained. Inviting people and Assisting guildies.
But I also use alot of my gold! Chest running for mods, buying materials, wasting it on events like the dragon festival!
That event drained my account something major.
I find it sad that people come on here crying about farmers and bots, high prices and how they can't get anything. But then I realise there either jealous that other have put effort into a game, or just plan noob.
How often are new players found to be the one crying over this stuff.
As for comment about the market, and items. Thats not bots and ebayers.
It's a prime example of snowballing a rant.
The market prices are high because of korean gold farmers. WTF the market is high due to supply and demand.
The market is controlled by players, someone has to buy that 15^50 for 100k for it to be a high end item. And then others sell them for 100k because people are buying them for that much.
Ebay will always be a problem, but it ant going to change. Since ebay is the lil fish in the gold sales business.
My suggestion is if you have a problem with the price of items, don't buy them. Collectors stock items that are just as good, the difference between 15^50 and 14^50 isn't even noticeable in GW yet the price is (100k/20k)
As for Gold and Ebay, [email protected] If your not buying it from ebay why cry about it on a forum. It doesn't effect you directly.
And last but not least, if you group with a wammo wearing full FOW dyed black that you don't know personally, your the one in need of nerfing.

power tradings very simple, its basically trick noobs into selling items far below normal price, just like this guy who tried to convince me into selling a req9 15^50 Goth Dual for 15k when i was looking for a PC.

I luv ebayers! you know why?
because I have known 3. They all felt guilty. and all three gave me a lot of gold to share their wealth. I just praised them and said they were smart. lol I have gotten a combined total of 400k from ebay guilt. I guess that makes me a hawk, which might be worse than an ebayer.

Exhibit number 50432 for need for auction house...
This is why I avoid trade channel and use of the trade button entirely..
And I'm all the better for it.
You know whats so funny? If, god forbid, I was ever temped to buy gold, I am now so universally hated for comments and actions against it, I would almost certainly be refused service. lol Which is fine by me. Removes even the hint of temptation for such a thing...

I said this in another thread, namely this, but I think it has validity here:

|
Thinking back, the word 'most' is probably wrong, as there is a lot of wealth made by farming ectos and shards. I think most of the original wealthy players were made because of that. Either they farmed them, or they traded with people who farmed them. Now, the market is simply flooded with ill-gotten gains.

Seriously, ebayers shouldn't affect you at all. Play the game you want to play it, and don't concern yourself so much with how others play the game.

Shouldn't. You're right. But they do. They speed up inflation, severely, which in turn makes some of the more attractive item skins ridiculously expensive. This means casual players simply can't afford to get the skins they would want.
Important? Maybe not to you. But there are those of us that actually like the way our characters look and that is extended to the items they carry. If it wasn't important at all, we'd only have one sword skin, one axe skin, one bow skin, etc. If appearences didn't matter, we'd have one armor set, hell, we'd be playing a text-based RPG.
These things matter. Maybe not as much as others, but they do matter. As someone of great wisdom once said, "Play the game how you want to play it, and don't concern yourself so much with how others play the game."

Well one can ask what's more immoral, buying gold from ebay or abusing dozens of players tricking them to sell low. The ebayer actually hurts no one, he paid for a service. It's a shame for Anet the money doesn't come into their hands, but that's all there is to it. The power trader on the other hand, takes the chance of some wealth away from noobs, only to increase his already wealthy filled pockets.
Both ebayer and power trader are a reality as well as bots. When there is a demand, a supply will be formed. That's how things work in an economy. The ways to form that supply are not always strictly by the rules, but that's the nature of humans. It's a problem for the authorities, in this case Anet.

If they buy gold with real money, that's their choice and they have all the right to do so because it's their real money not yours. If you buy one of the power nine cards in magic the gathering, you pay over 300 dollars for a piece of paper. It doesn't matter if it's paper, game gold, a bag of air or whatever.
I can imagine an adult with a job and all doesn't find it fair some people have way more time to play the game but that's the way it is. He can be a gamer from his childhood and even be much more experienced in general than you are, but you're running around in fow armor. He only wants to increase his gaming experience too and he really likes that armor and buys for example some game gold. The guy probably wants to play the game instead of farming just because his time is limited. That's reality.

Best post I've read in a long time, and believe or not kids some Adults do actually play the game and maybe only for a couple of hours after coming home from work and dont have the luxury of sitting at home all day farming if they want something.
Reading through most of this thread it appears the majority of whiners are kids who probably couldnt use their parents credit cards.....
Doesnt affect the way I play the game one little bit, so it shouldn't affect anyone elses really, as at the end of the day it's just 0's & 1's and a load of pixels, not real life (unless your life revolves round a game of course which means you REALLY need to get out more )

That doesn't make it right or fair, period. I'm in that exact boat, myself. I work a lot more than I play GW, by a ratio of at least 8:1. So for each 8-hour workday, I play one hour of GW. I advocate lower prices all around for this reason - because I know there are many others like me. (and yes, I spend more time on here than in-game since I have the luxury of downtime and the internet at work -yay!-)
Anyway, if I really wanted FoW armor, I could get it. I've been playing since Janurary, and if I had saved up to get it, I have no doubt I'd have enough to get it for one of my characters. I think that's how FoW armor is supposed to work, though. If you really want it, save up, it's an end-game kinda goal. Something that's supposed to be prized.
The problem is, right now, there is so many items in the game that has much more prestige than FoW armor, knocking it down to a mere "eh" factor. It shouldn't be like that, I think. FoW armor should be the end-all be-all thing to save up for. Now? It's eBay food. Hell, got a couple of hundred bucks? Go buy ya a 15^50 crystalline. It shouldn't be like that.
